If a community leader is going to be successful in making a difference in their community it's a safe bet it won't happen without identifying and working with others early in the planning process.
Today's issues are complex and will typically require knowledge and resources from varying sectors, organizations, businesses, and individuals.
Engaging others will lead to organizations, businesses, and other partners who have a vested interest in working together to address the community issues, gaps or needs that have been identified.
Or, they can be people, organizations or businesses who have resources that will help resolve the challenges you want to address (Partnership is often referred to as two or more organizations sharing resources to reach a common goal).
To ensure you have identified all potential partners, you may want to use more than one strategy to develop a partner profile and/or checklist to ensure optimal diversity and representation.
